February 11, 2025. Artificial Intelligence.
I remember the excitement when Deepseek was released. Many people claimed it would challenge the hold that Western technology has on the world. At first, the discussion mostly focused on social media platforms like x.com, which used to be called Twitter. From what I have observed, many who join in the excitement do not fully understand what a large language model is or how it works. They take a few ideas, expand on them, and share their thoughts without really digging deep into the subject. I find it interesting how quickly people are ready to label and dismiss new ideas, even comparing creative work produced by a human mind in the process.
My view on artificial intelligence is very positive. I have a lot of respect for pioneers like Geoffrey Hinton who have worked hard to share their vision with everyone. I appreciate their contributions to our understanding of AI, but I also believe that no one person can claim the future. We all grow older, and change affects us all. The promise of AI is not owned by any one individual or generation.
Today, I use AI for almost everything. I look forward to a future where artificial intelligence is part of every aspect of our lives. Imagine a world where you no longer need to spend hours perfecting a spreadsheet or making a set of slides for a presentation. Some people worry that work created with the help of AI might not be authentic. I see these tools as a way to boost creativity rather than replace it. I use advanced language models to help improve my writing and to make my stories clearer. This is not because I am trying to take shortcuts or limit my own thinking. Instead, it allows me to save time and energy to explore new ideas while leaving everyday tasks to capable tools.
I truly believe that AI will help us get more out of life. One day, we may have more time to enjoy simple pleasures, like spending a day at the beach or going for a long hike, without worrying about paperwork, endless emails, or weekend meetings. With AI handling routine tasks, we can finally unlock our full creative potential and focus on what truly matters. We can become more than just workers; we can be explorers and caretakers of our world.
As we move forward, let us welcome the opportunities that artificial intelligence brings. It is not meant to replace human creativity but to serve as a tool that helps us shape a future where we have more time to do what we love. I believe that this future is worth working towards because it gives us the freedom to explore, create, and truly live.
